Jean-Michel Daudier: Profile
Jean-Michel Daudier is one of Haiti's best known and loved entertainers. His songs uplifted and mobilized thousands of Haitians at home and abroad during the country's most recent revolution. The New York Times said of his exciting music and performance at the Victory Celebration, "the jubilant crowd jumped to their feet as he played, joining in a mighty chorus of ten thousand voices." A multi-faceted performer on guitar, synthesizer, and piano, Jean-Michel can perform as a solo act or with an ensemble or orchestra. He released two critically acclaimed albums in Haiti entitled Soley La and Diaspora. His latest CD, Nou Tout Samble (We All Look the Same) was produced in Guadeloupe and will be released this fall in twenty-five French speaking countries. His latest work encompasses a variety of styles including "Dance All Night," which combines a Haitian beat with a Latin flavor; and "Living Together," a soulful, romantic rhumba. You'll find yourself dancing to the infectious rhythms and humming the catchy melodies this charismatic, multicultural entertainer performs, in French, English, Spanish, Creole, and Portuguese. Jean-Michel currently resides in Miami, Florida, after ten years in New York City. He has also performed throughout the United States, Canada, the Caribbean, and Europe as a solo artist and with such well-known bands as Tabou Combo, Skasha, and the System Band. In New York, he performed at many venues including the Brooklyn Academy of Music and Newark Symphony Hall, as well as Haitian and World Music clubs such as SOB (Sounds of Brazil). You can hear him in the South Florida area at various clubs, concerts, and festivals. For concert and booking information email jeanmicheldaudier@yahoo.com or call (954) 394-0691. |
